Maestra Manuela

Manuela is 68 years old,is the older sister of Jorge Mahua and comes from a long lineage of healers. At the age of 30 she almost died of an inflammatory disease and was cured using plants her grandfather prescribed. Subsequently she carried out her first plant dieta over 9 months of solitude and has dieted now on and off for the last 38 years. Manuela is one of the strongest Maestras we work with and has an unusual sweet and high pitched voice during ceremonies. She is a quieter member of the team although a powerhouse during ceremonies. She has 2 sons and 6 grandchildren.

Manuela is happy and proud to know that many people from many different countries come to see the Maestras for healing and to work with the medicinal plants and she is keen to share her knowledge.She will be accompanying us on tours in 2012






Maestro Machinga

Don Miguel Ochavano Urquia, also called "Master Machinga" is an expert on medicinal plants and trees of the Shipibo tradition. His knowledge includes the use of ayahuasca medicine and natural medicine to cure various diseases. There are important knowledge in the "Machinga, a forest tree that has the ability to treat the bones, muscles and spine. There are also successfully treated addictions of alcohol and drug with plants of the forest. Don Miguel likes to share his knowledge with people who also wants.









Maestro Ricardo Amaringo

47 years-old Ricardo Amaringo is one of the most skilled healing shamans of his generation: more than 20 years of experience and a deep knowledge of medicinal plants, a millennium heritage of the Shipibo-Conibo people of the upper Amazon. Born in Pucallpa, near the Ucayali river, he lives presently in Iquitos, Peru. It is an honor to welcome him in Europe. In his family, men are shamans from father to son. At 14, Ricardo had his first experience. At 20, he had a difficult period, and then met Maria Arevalo. She cured him and he started several diets of master plants, like Toe, Nihue rao, Colondrina sacha, Ayahuma, Tchai, Coca, etc ... Ricardo likes to finish with his own words: "I wish to share my traditional knowledge with the western people. I'm currently finishing my own center, Nihue Rao, in llanshama, in the north of Iquitos". Jacon shaman aquinra.

Maestro Guillermo Arevalo("Kestembetsa")

Maestro Guillermo is a master shaman; ayahuascero and vegetalista descended from many generations of healers. In 1982, he founded the Application of Traditional Medicines Project (AMETRA) in Pucallpa, Peru, to collect information on plants and indigenous healing techniques. Through this project and his reputation as a healer, he has become a much sought-after speaker and ceremonialist at major international conferences, and is a consultant to many authorities on Amazonian medicines. He has participated in numerous documentaries about the Shipibo, including Jan Kounen's 2003 feature film, Renegade.

In 2004, he established Espíritu De Anaconda, a botanical sanctuary and shamanic healing centre in the Amazon where traditional Shipibo medicine is practiced. Guillermo's mission and passion is to teach, revitalize, disseminate, and preserve the wisdom and practices of Amazonian plant medicine. In 2011 he established a new center called Anaconda Cosmica
